Hi, I'm Sophie, a Cumbrian artist and illustrator. I have been working as an illustrator for over 10 years, since graduating with a degree in Illustration from Loughborough University.  I have worked on a huge variety of design projects in my career, I especially love children’s and character design and have previously specialised in stationery and giftware. I have worked within busy design studios and now work freelance from my home studio near the Lake District, UK.

I have always had a passion for design and illustration and draw inspiration from everything and everyone around me. I love children's book illustration and have an overflowing collection of children's books. I love sharing stories with my two children and our pet guinea pigs often join in too. I am also a big nature lover and enjoy exploring the outdoors in and around the fells in the Lake District. I love Cumbrian animals and they often feature in my work, such as 'Herdy' Sheep and Red Squirrels. In my artwork I like combining line work, colour and patterns to create fun, detailed and imaginative illustrations.
